I just got finished reading the manual and it does more than what is being advertised. Most of the features in previous MPCs are in the current OS and also more will be added in future OS upgrades. This is stated in the manual.

the specs tell me they abandonded the z engine, and more than halved the amount of ram you can install, along with eliminating keygroup support. none of those are good, and, i dont need a half assed virtual analog synth in my mpc when i have 20 in my daw.
and i'd love to believe akai's promises of future OS upgrades. but its clear from that comment you don't know the history us 4k users have been through with akai. not only did we not get things promised in future upgrades- and not only has our operating system now been discontinued- but features advertised when they first announced the product (direct from disk streaming) never even were there in the first place.
