Question

This seems like a downgrade form the 4000. Still a nice machine but besides the new built in synth feature and adat, there's nothing you cant get from the 2500 with the JJ OS. Proffessionals dont care about the 8 track mixdown because a 15 track beat still has to get mixed down part for part in a DAW. More Q links and effects, OK, but i have all that in my DAW. yeah i get it, "but you can do it all in the box"; but if i cant record my whole 40 track song including vocals in "the Box", then everything still has to come out. I think it makes a great live machine but, it doesn't trump the 4000, they couldv'e upgraded the 4000's OS and got the same effect; AND more RAM. I own an SP1200, MPC2000 (Classic), MPC1000, and S950. And at this point, if AKAI had a software MPC that worked the exact same way as a real MPC without the memory restrictions I'd spend 5grand on that. other than that, i already own a million samplers and plugins that can do it all. They can sell a software bundle with a slimmed down hardware mpc (without all the internals) and sell that for 5g. hook it up to ur laptop, rewire it to ur DAW, let the hardware serve as a dongle to protect their product. You'll still have the hardware feel and workflow, but 4gigs of ram and 1tb disk streaming. And, a laptop and controller will be about the same size, if not smaller than the 5000. THATS THE REAL NEW MPC.

Oh, But it is smaller than the 4000 and sexier though.
