maybe stupid Q : but I've seen nice gear in the past .. damaged by temps ... even when room temp is ok/cool
since then 1 space ventilation blinds into all my racks .. specially when you're hanging them upside -> down ...
with you're converters in the standing rack you're more carefull .. than you're beauty tubbies .... who gives a *** about converters :-)

Hey man, haha, well, the space between the converters is merely the result of an abundance of room to do so. In the desk itself, we wanted to use as much space as we could, so you're right, some pieces of gear are butted right up against each other.
There are small gaps between each piece of gear just by nature, and then along the sides. Our plan is to put in some silent fans under the desk in three different positions, and we're pretty confident the constant air flow is going to keep it safe enough. We're also leaving the back of the desk off and instead attaching some very thin fabric to cover it up, which should allow for air flow.
It's funny, out of all our gear when we had it set up in the old place, the things that got unbearably hot were the avocet rackmount and the apogees. Things like the tubetech, the MP2A, or the thermionic phoenix ... while they got warm, it didn't seem like it was any warmer than usual.
I hope we can keep it this way, because it certainly looks great with it all mushed together, and it also is very convenient to have it all fit in front of us!
