I only really need a Player...the skinnier the better the simpler the better.
I have Logic 6, Cubase and Digital Performer all on the Mac. I just delved into and almost mastered Logic 6 over the last month and I think I'm done delving.
My wife sequences in Cubase and I have switched over to Logic.
I have a little $12 app on the mac "Qmidi" and it does a great job:

It gets all the MIDI data correct at the head of the song and spits it out fast to set up the synths
scroll up and down with the arrow keys to the song song you want and hit the return key. Voila!
But I don't have access to a mac laptop since they are Totally junk and poorly designed as mine fell apart after 15 months!
