Also, what's that clicking on the E609 black sample? Is that the picking?
No offense intended, but maybe you got mics that were mounted the wrong way round? Frankly, by the sample it sounds like the mic is back to the speaker.
I also wouldn't use a flat eq on the amp as the "benchmark". Who records guitars with a flat eq'd amp?
