I'm on PC but I really like them new iMACS with a 20" display. I've got a high end work issued Dell laptop but I'm not really suppose to install non corporate software, though I wouldn't get in any trouble if I didn't leave it on for long. It would be good to find out what firewire chips Dell uses. You might consider giving Dell a call and ask them. If they use TI then you should be OK.
Let me know if you find anything out. I could do an install on this Dell laptop but would I be able to install Cubase on it with it's licensing method...don't know. But then again maybe Dell puts in a different firewire in these Precision notebooks. But I'd be happy to try it out if it means another N12 user/
