The list price is just that, and you should be able to get a lower price when you buy an appropriate quantity.

Maybe, but probably not. In order to truly diffuse down to a reasonable frequency the depth variation would have to be at least six inches. I'm not much of a diffusion expert, but I'm pretty sure a real QRD diffusor will do a much better job than random stones.
