RE20. Better yet, an RE27. Very smooth and versatile, and can be used on floor toms and kicks. A vintage RE11 or RE15/16 would also work great for much less money. They all handle horns, guitar cabs, bass cabs when combined with DI, and vocals. I have 'em all, and think very highly of them.
