I've often used some sansamp or distortion to make a "soundwise" boring bass track more exciting and easier to hear on small speakers. This of course works very well with punk, rock and other aggressive styles, but for softer styles other strokes are called for.

So what are the coolest chorus/phaser units for mixing bass?

I tried to persuade a friend who owes me money to give me his Roland Dimension D, but NO. What about the TC 1210?
