You probably liked the Liquid Mix better because it had less of an extreme EQ applied. Because the high shelf cuts frequencies across the board, and the low shelf barely did anything. I pushed it to 15db boost and it didn't get nearly as bassy as the other 4 plugins. I'm assuming that's not a property of SSL desks - that you boost a high shelf and the other frequencies all drop. (see the attached photo)?? Had the same problem with API low end boost. The Liquid mix wasn't nearly as bassy as the Waves or URS models. Hope it's not a flaw of dynamic convolution. Maybe just a bug or something fixable with emulation updates?
