I suggest taking some acting and voice-over classes locally. That will not only help you with your skills but will put you in touch with active people in the industry. From there, the instructors will most likely help you put together a proper demo reel. That will also give you a good taste of what it's like to record in a booth with the clock on and the client watching. From there it's up to you how far you want to take it. Good luck and have fun!
