it depends how you want to work really. with melodyne plugin you can work straight in Pro Tools however with melodyne studio you will need to use rewire which is unpredictable in some cases. if you get melodyne studio you get the plugin for free.... other than that, i'd be inclined to go for the plugin for the integration aspect
