I believe it's nice and warm sounding, at least due to transformer on input.
The question is do we need warmth or neutral, high resolution transparence in converters. Sometimes I prefer Apogee due to its slightly colored character, but if money no object, I would always pick 16+ channels of Lavry Gold that is neutral and clean (well 50k is just about too much
