fellow Gearslut was lucky enough to have the FDept take a stand right in front of his home and studio out building in Ramona... ( hydrant in front of his house!) reports were flames 100 ft high on the ridge... and they saved it! very stoked for him.

Your friend in Ramona is very very fortunate, given that the entire town was evacuated and now looks like a war zone.
Looks like the Harris fire near my house in Chula Vista is finally starting to slow down. Last night, one of the local newz stations kept reporting that "
it looks like the Harris fire will burn all the way to the ocean". Gee thanks! Too bad it wasn't based on any facts.
Thank God they were wrong, again.
