I have the Ellipse 8's and love them. Imaging is fantastic. They also seem to take the room out of the equation more than other monitors I've owned. Mine will stay with me for the foreseeable future. That said, I can see how they aren't for everyone. Plan to buy a sub. I have mine set very low, around 40 hz or so. Helps to fill in the bottom end but still keep it out of the way. Granted, I don't do hip hop, etc. that requires huge LF, so YMMV. When I was shopping around, I choose these over the Dynaudio BM15A (totally subjective, I know).
