Um, I think you're mixed up.
IF I've got this right...The Pacifica (like any mic pre) should have balanced XLR outs. The RNC, in order to be configuarble with both "consumer" and "pro" gear, I believe, was designed with unbalanced connectors. In practice, there shouldn't be a problem interfacing them, provided you have the right cables. If the cable runs between the units are short (and they should be, if they're racked anywhere near each other), you should be able to send a line-level signal from your Pacifica to your RNC and on to your converter (and DAW), or wherever, without much difficulty.
I don't remember whether the Pacifica has an insert point (like the Great River or the RNP) which would be even better in this application.
You should check out the FMR site; there's lots of information there (and in the RNC manual) about interfacing the RNC with all sorts of gear. Or send them an email. They're very accessible and helpful.
