My buddy got a new iMac with version 10.4.10 and the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. He has the Mackie Onyx 400F he bought a couple of years back. The 400F worked great on his Windows box. But we struggled to no avail to get it to work on his iMac. It did not help that both of us were new to Mac.

We loaded the 400F Console.app from his original 2 year old CD and could get a meter signal on the virtual mixer but no actual sound in Garage Band.

So we went to Mackie website and downloaded the new console software.

It said firmware was outdated and we needed to flash. We said yes but the flash failed.

With the new Console.app we can't even get back to the virtual mixing board we had. It won't load.

Any ideas where we need to start?

Please help us Mac newbies... we don't have that much hair in the first place.
