| V4 or V4B (the one with metal knobs pre-distortion channel)

Hope your well.
Hoping you could point me in the right direction regarding the purchase of either an ampeg v4 or v4b..
I have a VT-22 (with distortion knobs) which i want to sell inorder to get a v4b or v4...mainly so my band can use it live for bass... and secondly for recording guitar (and bass) in the studio...
My question is.. are the V4 and V4B the exact same minus the reverb switch in the v4b..
ideally i just want to get a V4B but they are hard to come by as there are alot more v4's on ebay...
either way, would really appreciate any knowledge you can share..
(still hunting for a gemini I... cant wait to get my hands on one and stick a weber in there..mmm...)
