The sidechain signal can be send from one or multiple tracks by using a regular "send". So you can actually "merge" and "mix" a multitude of signals to be send to the sidechain input of your plugin.
Oh, and the sidechaining in N3 was virtually non-existent, except with a workaround or specific third party plugins. Now the sidechaining protocol is included in the new VST3 SDK, which means that all 3th party developers can take advantage of these new features.
