Anyone else notice that the largest back slapping and loudest proponents of the HCL products all share a few traits?
1) They are all relatively new GS members
2) They all speak in someone broken English (not a complaint, I can't speak any other language, they all speak better English than I speak Russian etc., just making a point)
3) Most of HCL's replies to the people who love the gear happen within hours if not minutes from when the positive review is posted.
4) Almost all of the posts by the HCL proponents are about HCL products, even on other threads.
Now I am NOT saying the HCL products are bad, I am sure they are fine units. I am saying that there are a few things here that make me say "Hummmmmm, that's interesting…" |
Well like I said in my first HCL post Im new to GS but not new to the record business. The only reason I joined this site is because Albert at HCL told me he was a member and I wanted to post what I really thought of HCL and that's what I did. I would (for years) generally stop by the site and laugh at some of the ridiculous things that people would post on most of these threads. To me for the most part this site is a bunch of geeks who wish they were really doing music and don’t have anything better to do with themselves than talk tech. Ive posted some stuff besides what I’ve posted here but have quickly become bored of the "to record at 96K or 48K?" or the "what mic is best for my snare" or "what mic pre" threads
I already know what a 1073 sounds like or that a C800G has a lot of hi end. As for 96K who cares when your average consumer is downloading an MP3!!!!!!!! And maybe that’s why people are posting things about HCL because they are tired of the same ol' gear I know I am. So when something new comes along that sounds good and is cheap you can’t help but get excited. as for the broken english im a product of the American education system. Oh by the way I'm about to pull the trigger on that Affinity mic pre. It been a long time coming
