Not hearing much on the Tascam X48 with 1.03. Just bought one & would like to hear from anyone using it in multi track, typical studio application. Cutting 20 tracks or so off the floor. I will be transferring it to Logic 7.2 to mix. Bought Logic 8 but am going to sit for a few weeks before I load it. I have the analog cards installed on the 48 & am working through a Soundcraft Ghost. Any issues exporting to Logic? I am a little confused on which format AAF ???????? for Logic. Any "landmines" in the transferring process? I understand I need to transfer to a outboard drive & cannot export direct from the X48 drive. I am presently cutting on Logic & M-20's, ya ADAT's. Just beds, do all the vocals & OD's in Logic, but would love to get a stand alone to work for cutting tracks. Looked at Radar & PT. Radar is expensive & PT, well, I don't see much advantage over cutting in Logic for a multiple cost for cutting tracks. Love Logic for mixing... Still computers & peripheral issues in recording. Transferring to Logic from the M-20's in real time via light-pipe, MOTU's. Works great but slow.
Any ideas or X48 update would be appreciated.
