Trying to stick to pretty modern stuff (last couple of years...)

Foo Fighters - Burn Away
TOOL - The Pot
Probot - Dictatosaurus
NOFX - USA-holes
Bad Religion - The Grand Delusion
Green Day - Homecoming
Sunny Day Real Estate - Fool in the Photograph
Tori Amos - Spark
Chris Cornell - When I'm Down

And since we're loving on The Toadies here, I'll throw in "Hell Below/Stars Above/Dollskin!"

And does Sigur Ros' "Glosoli" count as rock?

Anyways, all up to interpretation about "best sounding," some of the songs I listed may lack in initial tracking fidelity more than others are willing to let slide...And I'm certain songwriting plays a part here despite the fact we're just talking about "best sounding..." I also wouldn't bother listening to me, tho, as I think stuff like Offspring's self-titled album, Green Day's "Kerplunk," and Bad Religion's "Against the Grain" sound awesome...
