Even if the stability of PT6/OS-X and softsynths is questionable, I find the midi
timing to be a real improvement from the days of OS9/OMS, especially when using a Digi MIDI I/O and its timestamping feature. This goes for hardware synths only, of course. I have not done any scientific tests on PT timing with softsynths.
PT 6.4 has just been released, but I don´t think they´ve done any improvements regarding MIDI; there is no mentioning about it in their list of improvements for 6.4. We´ll see when it arrives...maybe Charles can give us some info on this matter?
