I don't see a damn think here to substantiate those mic's being fake other than the author saying they are. Shure moved production of these mics to a different country and have no doubt tweaked tooling etc here and there.

I think the difference in weight was pretty good proof myself.

PS -- Just checked my mics. My 57 and my 58 are both real, but the pouch itself for the 58 is counterfeit. Now that's just weird.
