How true, how true. Back in the early 90s we had a bunch of major label interest. When the A&R guys came out (usually label big shots too) they came in bunches from 2 or 3 labels at a time. It was like dealing with stock brokers. I figured out if one liked you even if the rest didn't it started a bidding war but if one said they didn't like you no one would go out on their own no matter how much they liked you. You could go from the toast of the town to the bottom of the barrel in about half a beer if one guy thought the sky was falling. Fortunately I have a thick skull so the one time it actually fell it only caused a bald spot.
