I went down there, and heard the PEQ-1s against the 1084's in an 8016. I immediately picked up 4 PEQ-1s. I have some Neve's myself, and often track with an 8038. The PEQ-1 doesn't sound like a 1084, it's a bit cleaner, and (sweeter?) It does have the same size and dimension, both sonically, and physically. It's totally a matter of taste, but I prefer the Wunder in many cases.

The reason I mentioned it was for the frame, not the modules. There's a possibility you could get the frame and load Neve modules into it. It's basically the same functionality, but there should be fewer headaches. The routing modules will be different, but I wouldn't miss the old ones. Also, there's the bonus of having moving faders available at much less than FF.

Can you tell I want one?
