Okay, maybe that's a bit of an over-statement.

Not ALL of my high-end gear broke because I'm a snob. I buy, well sell my soul for, really nice stuff. But everything that involves tubes-preamps, EQ, compressor, amplifiers, etc. some way or another this month took a sh|t.

So I've been left to play with my last pair of pres-my quad eights, and
and my Midas mixer. I am using an e47c and a RCA 74 junior, but that's it, and I'm blown away.

I learned a valuable lesson today where I don't feel like I need a specific version of X or Y to get a job done.

It's all about experience.

Okay, I lied. I just saw I'm actually the drum mic through a Pultec mixer for some tubage.

I'm still stoked. i feel like I've reached that epiphany where the ruler and compass aren't necessary in the design. Only useful.

I'm going to record some more now.
