Anyone can make music without a structure. 10 minutes of random notes and uneven beats is quite "creative" isn't it? Very artistic, but it would sound like crap. It's music we're talking about isn't it? you know, that thing where the basic goal is.... to sound GOOD?...
If instead of listening and feeling what sounds good, you're analyzing if the song has a "template" or not, then I really don't know if you should be in this business, my friend. |
Actually it was multiple songs. lol
And to reinterate, I never said Nickelback sounded "bad". Their records sound great production wise for that style. But they just don't have much to say. It's all form over content.
A good song is a good song regardless of the recording quality. Don't confuse good songs for production quality Yeah, COF's first 50 records sounded like shit but they were more creatively original and complex than Nickelback imo. Of course this is all up to the "styles" you understand and like, and you obviously don't like the extreme stuff. But call a spade a spade. Nickelback is redneck rock, albeit good sounding.
Have you ever considered another field maybe? I suggest proctology. ;-)
