I would agree the AD8000 isn't much in te preamp department. then again, if you bothered to use a decent pre in front of it you would find the conversion is adequate. Not special.....but then again what is for 8 channels of ANYTHING at that price. (In my case, like 100.00)
I have had many folks in my place that put the Composer...at least the pre China one, up with a DBX 160X, maybe ahead for some applications. Serious guys.
I've used the headphone amps, decent prosumer....again...its a 100 dollar box....traet it as such its fine.
People slag Berhinger today the way they used to slag Peavey. Yeah...its not API, iits not Neve, but used in a reasonable context it can work adequately, if you give a chance before you trash it.
