... Never experienced that in the behringer things I've used.
Admittedly I've only used a composer compressor from mid 90s, one of those stereo enhancers, a "tube" composer and a "tube" dual mic pre from early 2000s.
No phasiness, no heinous hiss (except on extreme comp/limit) settings no distortion, (although the mic pre has low-ish headroom --- easy to clip on drums) low noise floor, no muddiness, no loss of body
Just a clear, full-bodied, useable sound.
I get the feeling I've been lucky though
