Yeah, for studio work, the older SX20X series is probably the best sounding stuff. The old SX202 pre is great. Especially when you do the Monte McGuire mods. Actually, just the opamp swap is enough to bring these pres up to somewhere around the Sytek level. Very clean and easy to use. I've also got the compressor and eq in the same series and they're usable as well. The compressor in addition to the pre make a nice little two track mobile rig. The 501 compressor's are the other standout.
