HMMM! For some reason, that Grommes mixer looks QUITE familiar to me <g!!>:

Index of /projects/grommes

Pan's unit had a bunch of multi-section 'lytics on the power supply rails that had sh!t the bed, and drop-in replacements were made from unobtanium.

SO, Pan and I did the best scheme we could concoct, which was to mount some "modern" 'lytics onto a piece of phenolic board. See pix in the link, above.

Pan had a stash of phenolic board, as well as the parts/tooling to "stake" eyelets onto the phenolic. Hence, we went "olde school" for the retrofit. Pan machined the card, I stuffed it/wired it onto the Grommes chassis.

In a Perfect World, I would have found exact replacements for the multi-section 'lytics, but alas....I did the best I could. My motto is "do no harm to vintage gear", but sometimes Ya Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do to move along.

Interestingly, after Pan's project, I have now run into three other Grommes mixers that are part-and-parcel of the "secret sauce" used by tracking/mixing engineers from around the country.

I now need to look around in my digipix files to see if I have other slutty pix to post....
