I don't see any ribbons on the list (I might be missing it)...but I find it important to have at least a pair of ribbons at my place. My favorite all arounder is the AEA R84, but for bang for the buck the Crowley and Tripp Naked Eye can't be beat. Both (as a single mic) are under your stated budget. Good luck.
