I'm tossing up between getting a 16 channel ATB or a Neve 8816 summing mixer.

I am still getting used to it. Mucking about with patchbays and getting all the inserts
working the way I like. I also installed a fan unit to blow into the power supply, to keep
some air moving around inside the console. The sound is good. Not as mushy
as the cheapo (un-nameable brand) job I was using before.
I thought about the Neve, but they are very expensive. The tradeoff for me was
getting some sort of pro EQ into my system or a better buss. The ATB gives me both.
The other option is that TL Audio valve mixer. That would keep us warm here on
cold Penrith nights!
I think the Neve (with faders) is a great option, though - if you're doing lots of guitar & vocal
stuff, but I am a synth nut and just want something to track through with a nice EQ, inserts
and summing down to 8 inputs. When the ATB's FW interface comes out, I will install
that and track right into the computer! I am only using half the features of the ATB
at the moment, but I bought something I will grow into, instead of out of!
