Both are great mics, the 421 is used on alot of stuff and the c3000 can be used on about anything....at a 400.00 budget i would get a Sterling GT66 tube mic..... for the buck they are bad to the bone, check ebay for a Sterling GT66 or a Groove Tube GT66, same thing.

The 421 is more of a drum mic or voice sometimes, the c3000 is ok for the $$ on vocals.
