I'm not sure how dark yet. Mine is a bit older and the patter switch is on the inside. Dave can mod it to be on the outside and while its there I can have the new high cut added too. The TS-2 is more extended than bright. It's a really good mic, I was just in the mood for gooey...

Mitch seems to like both the TS-2 and the TS-1 SDC tube mics.
