| I've got the TS-2 i for review right now. I also spent a decent amount of time with the designer of the mic Terry Setter. He and I were both at TapeOpCon this past weekend.
The mic is very extended and detailed. Part of the reason being that in the design phase Terry realized he could minimize the circuit. It has a really nice top end that is not harsh. The null when in figure 8 is really great.
The variable tube heater is pretty cool. I like it about half way between the "normal/calibrated" and full/wide open setting. Terry told me that if you run the tube really cold and starve the tube it gets really nasty and fun, so I know I'm gonna do tht sometime soon...
Make sure you have a good stand, that mic is heavy! |
