what system? DP pro tools HD? with softsynth? please explain a little more.
you can clone the main drive. re-install from scracth the OS and the plugins and copy over from the clone the file u really need.
the new macpros are good and fast and now support all the same plugins so if u have the money and want the power then go ahead.
