this reminds me of the thread i started in the moan zone about what a GC rep did to me once. i think the topic got deleted because it was pretty old.
im pretty sure it went like this:
me - hey, i was just wondering if you keep any SM-7bs in stock at all
GCguy - hold on, let me check for you (starts hammering away on the 30 year old computers keyboard) while this is processing...um...why would you need that mic
me - mostly for vocals.
gcguy - no way, man. you dont want this thing for vocals at all. totally wrong application
me - uh...john mayer, metallica, and michael jackson dont seem to think so (laugh)
gcguy - nah man. what you need is a groove tubes mic. theres a tube IN the mic!
me - uh.......so how about those sm-7s....
gcguy - oh no, we dont stock those. you should really check out this GT mic. its so great and its so cheap! you dont want that sm-7.
me - (laughing) i have to go.
i dont recall if thats exactly how it went, but thats pretty accurate.
