I bought 1st Wagner from bankrupt studio owner for same price as it is today (around 6800 USD+shipping).
Gunter Wagner was always very concrete in production period estimation (he didn't take any orders until he was sure that he can deliver). I would say typical German in good sense.
He informed promptly about production flow and exactly on time mic was finished.
After payment in 5 days FEDEX informed that mic arrived.
I know 5-6 owners and all of them have much better studios then me. I never heard anything less than excellent opinions from singers, producers and engineers who worked with this mic. Simply amazing, pure U47 sound.
Actually it is newly made U47 that is sonically on par with original in the best condition. I think that around hundred mics were produced and it is finite number that might be produced in the future.
He puts lot of efforts to final testing, burning, calibrating, so what one get is nothing less than state of the art.
IMO it's absolutely not overpriced when compared to all other best mics on the market and I would easily order 3rd if gears wish list would not be sooo looong
