It's subjective but let's say DRE is 100% billion dollar studio and Rick Rubin 100% basement.
It sounds like there are no fillers at all on his stuff, effects, drumlayers, layers, synths etc, I can imagine him being the guy who says "why do that? it's fine as it is". |
Yep and very true too. Scott Storch is a brilliant keyboardist. But his productions do sound a little low key imo. Dre's stuff has that sheen and expensive finish in comparison.
