I think it's fair to say that the staff CAN be amazing at guitar center. If you've got someone that's knowledgable and experienced, and management supports them (instead of shooting them in the foot) then it's great. Since GC buys in such large quantity, they sometimes have better prices than anywhere (depending on gear).

Our positive experiences however can be easily overshadowed by the fact that GC offers almost NO training (in comparison to some other industries like Finance that you might have hardcore training for weeks at a time, instead of just a manager showing you how to use the old AS/400 system), and hires practically anyone that asks. There are a ton of poor employees there. They don't last long, but they create poor experiences for all.
