There's margin. Used to work in the Pro Audio department at GC. There's room, just not a giant amount, and in speaking to our regional Apple Rep, it was pretty much just a sales agreement. Apple would RATHER that you buy directly from them, but wants to have larger distribution. Places that have tie-in products like Guitar Center want to be able to sell them too. When the products become discontinued, then the min caps are off, and they sell for stupid cheap at GC.
