When guitar play in front of the Little Golds, they seem to make sounds maddy because the Tannoys produce a lot of detailed highs, and they sound harsh to them, but a lot of moden rock music sounds harsh on good monitors (or should I say real flat monitors), anyway. I tell them this is how an aggressive and loud guitar should really sound, and they say they understand, but when their guitar player plays... maddy!
I wonder if I should use 10Ms, but I do not hear the bass on those. (I could only guess.) The little Golds are very good when recording the bass.
What would you think about this? What is your typical monitoring environment to record loud guitar? (when a guitar player plays himself and overdubs.)

If your player is having trouble hearing his sound in the control room, get him out of there. Put him in the room where the speaker cabinet is so he can feel his sound and get vibed up.
That's all I can think of.
