Was all recorded in Garageband, with a Tascam US-122 as the interface. Signal path was predominantly an SM57 into a Kaoss Pad, often manipulated live by whoever wasn't fetching the beer. I mixed in Logic, all ITB. Yeah, it has a gritty asthetic, but it kicks buttocks on big stereo systems, and everyone who hears these tunes loves them. As the only tech-savvy member of the ensemble, I could show the other gents how to use GB in 2 minutes, so I didn't have to tape-op while playing my parts. I'm the guitarist, occasional vocalist, sometimes bassist (three in the group) programmer, and the guy who destroyed the pedestal fan in the pursuit of percussive grandiour.
With my outboard (natch) I could record major label quality with it, easy. Think of it as a big 4-track cassette recorder. With loops. Garageband is excellent.
heath.
