Hey Vancouverians,

Can you please check your Vancouver obituaries to see if this guy really died? His girlfriend sent me the below email earlier today, and I don't know whether to believe it or not.
Is the Vancouver coroner the right place to call, to check for the death certificate or some confirmation of a death? Who in Canada deals with death registrations?

I will also be calling the Valley View Memorial Gardens, to make sure that he really will be buried on Monday morning.

If this is a lie, it has to be the most shameless I have personally encountered! If true, how unfortunate.

I should also mention to you all that the spinal injury alibi has been going for the past two months, but I didn't expect it to result in this alibi of Matt's death. Here's part of the longer account which I filed with the FBI IC3 yesterday:

Matt said he would go in to customs to resolve the issue on Friday, February 2, 2007. But then I called him the day afterward, receiving no respose. A few days later, he told me the same thing over the phone as what his supposed girlfriend 'Jenny' sent me on February 6, 2007:
"
Dear Mitch,
Matt got an car accident, a car bumped into his during a car brake in front of him under a heavy rain condition, when he rushed to the custom office in the airport last Friday at app. 3:00pm and a joint in his spiral was dislocated.
He is now in hospital under observation to see whether a second operation is required prior to the first one of yesterday. The DPA mic package shipment was delayed as the custom opened the boxes and UPS needed the package to be securely repacked. I went to the UPS yesterday to repack the item yesterday and it was out at UPS 1Z 298 0F0 DL 9713 7570. I have the paper from Millennia and called the custom office yesterday to reschedule the meeting to this Friday. I will go onbehalf of Matt and the officer agreed. Matt is strictly on bed and not allowed to move, according to the doctors orders and hopefully he can avoid the second operation. If everything is OK, the joint doctors put in yesterday will not be rejected by his body and he can be out from the hospital in about a week. He can't make long distance calls from the hospital phone and he is not allowed to use cell phone neither. I will take care of this matter and I will update you the status.
Best regards,
Jenny
"

Strangely, Matt had previously told me his girlfriend's name was Judy Ng, not Jenny... According to the phone conversation and the email Matt was supposedly in the hospital. I received the two DPA 4016 microphones (see UPS tracking# 1Z2980F0DL97137570), and did not get to check them out until I returned home for the weekend of March 15-18, from college. They ended up being damaged. And of course, the Millennia HV-3D still wasn’t sent to me.
