Just in from the Int'l Federation of the Phonographic Industry...overall music sales for the first half of 2002 compared to the same period the year before, by country:
Worldwide: -9.2%
USA: -6.8%
Japan: -14.2%
UK: (no figures given in the article)
France: +5.2%
Germany: -14.2%
Asia (except Japan): -22%
Australia+NZ: -6.4%
Africa: +16.9%
Mexico: -15%
Brazil: +7.1%
Argentina: -75.9%

Corrections? Anybody have the UK figures, or those of other countries not mentioned? Why is France the only market of the top five doing well?
