Hi Wholyroly,

The only thing I could find here on Vancouver Island is the Roxul sheet rock 4 and 6 inch
You can use either fiberglass or rockwool, what's important is that its density should be at least 3 pcf (48 kg/m3). Between 3 and 6 pcf (48-96 kg/m3) you are fine.

I still dont know if I should put a plywood backing on it or just polyester cloth in the front as well as the back
Cloth in the front as well as in the back.

I noticed in cojos later designs that there is not a lot of wood left after hes finished with the jig saw, just a thought, but how would building a frame out of 1x1's work, it seems to me that after all the cuttiing it looks like that is about what the size of the wood left is and 1x1 frame construction would save a lot of time and effort as well as wood waste. Mind you, they would not be as pleasing to look at as his.
I'm currently building basstraps. The wood frame is as minimal as possible to offer maximum exposure to the fiberglass, but must still be solid enough... Also, I don't want to spend much time on the DYI, so the design is very simple with cloth all around it.

Hope this helps.
