good call on that. I actually stil use in the box eq sometimes, especially when I need specific notch filters etc since I run out of high quality peq outboard gear pretty fast during mixdown. Unfortunately the more I add to the plugin world, the less horsepower I have in my cpu for multitracking, and I hate latency with a vengence. I know, I know, no latency with eq plugins since the entire mix is delayed to match perfectly in daw software, but still, it bugs me. So use in the box stuff sparingly, but yes there is some good stuff without even having to buy a UAD-1 or anything hardware based. Thing is, uad-1 stuff costs more than everything outside the box in this list, so I'm not sure it counts as with a cheapness type stuff.
