As for Drumagog... I did manage to get it to finally retrigger a useable kick track using their internal sounds but it was only after I'd reduced my own kick track to just it's attack only. That doesn't seem like any sort of "quick and easy" method at all. Especially as the presets allow you to specify the incoming signal as kick or snare. It shouldn't be getting so many false triggers from the longer waveform. It would still retrigger random "full velocity" hits that I had to go back and replace manually though.
To their credit, I tried it out on the snare track (even though I was happy with my sound) and that was pretty much flawless. I'll certainly try the BFD version if they put out a demo but I stand by my statement that it's
useless for MIDI.
